Tom With from the Fuller Road area in Colonie is serving his first term
on the Town Board this year. Tom has contributed an enormous amount of time
and effort to the fire prevention community in Colonie. He deserves to be
elected to the Colonie Town Board due to his outstanding credentials and his
many years of volunteer efforts in the community.
Since 1988 Tom has served as an active Firefighter with the Fuller Road Fire
Department. He has served as a Lieutenant and Captain and he currently
serves as a Civil and Safety Officer. Tom has also served as a member of the
Town of Colonie Emergency Safety Committee since 1996. He serves in the
capacity of Operations Car 8, providing training and assistance to all 12
Fire Police Squads throughout the Town of Colonie. Tom also serves as a
representative to the Town's Emergency Management Program.
He is currently President of the Fire Police Association of Albany County, a
position in which he has served for 6 years. He is also a member of the
Albany County Traffic Awareness Committee, the Albany County STOP-DWI
Program, the Albany County Joint Fire Service Legislative Committee, and he
is past Vice-President from Albany of the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman's
Association.
Tom holds memberships in many other firefighter and fire police safety
organizations such as the National Volunteer Fire Council, the New York
State Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Fireman's Association of the State
of New York.
Tom has served as a member of the staff of the New York State Education
Department's State museum for the past 26 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts
Degree with honors from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York. He also holds
a Master of Science degree in Educational Communication from the University
at Albany. Tom also holds an Advanced Certification as an Educational
Computing Specialist from the State University of New York.
Tom is also an Usher and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mercy Church in
Colonie.
It is clear that Tom With will make an outstanding member of the Colonie
Town Board. His membership and offices held in various local, county, state,
and national organizations have afforded him a global view of local
government and its day-to-day operations. He pledges to preserve the high
quality of services provided by the Town of Colonie, while keeping your
taxes low.
We urge all voters to support the Team of Nicole Criscione-Szesnat, Brian
Hogan, and Tom With for Colonie Town Board. Please vote for all three of
these greatly talented individuals on Election Day.
